Magnum - Sleepwalking (1992)

The ninth album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

Two guests added tabla and sax.

The band returned again after a two years long album break.

The album was released on a market now taken over by the grunge scene. The music on this album is everything grunge is not. Hence, this album was not exactly fashionable that year.

The music on this fifty minutes long album is both elegant and stylish pomp rock. There is also a lot of AOR influences here too.

The band was indeed looking towards USA here and were trying to get a foothold in the AOR scene in USA. An overcrowded scene at that time.

Magnum was quality wise many miles better than the US scene and that shines through on this album. The vocals is good and the music is pretty good.

The result is indeed a pretty good album and one to check out if pomp rock and or AOR is your thing.
