Golem - The 2nd Moon (1998)

The second album from this band from Germany.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and vocals.

I reviewed their debut album last week and that album is a decent album. I will review their third and final album in some days time.

The 2nd Moon is clocking in at three quarters of an hour.

The music here is death metal.

Technical death metal, that is. There are still some Carcass influences here. But the death metal is far more technical this time around and not so groovy as on the debut album.

There are some sporadic melodic pieces here inbetween the rather chaotic technical death metal bits.

The sound is good. The guitars are good and the vocals are pretty good, rasping death metal growls.

I have heard a lot better death metal albums in my life. This album is not too bad. It is a decent enough album and one to check out if technical death metal floats your boat.
