The debut album from this band from Argentina.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, piano, organ, harmonica and vocals.
One guest added organ on one track.
This band released three albums between 1969 and 1980 before they split up for the final time. I am reviewing all three albums this winter.
This forty minutes long album is also the first album for Luis Alberto Spinetta, a guitarist who became one of the leading lights in the Argentine music scene. This both as a solo artist and member of bands like Almendra, Invisible and Spinetta Jade. His birthday, 23. January, is annually celebrated in Argentina as the official day of music. He is the vocalist and guitarist on this album.
The music here is a blend of beat, psych rock and folk rock. Latin Rock is the best label on this music as the vocals are in Spanish.
The music sounds a bit primitive anno 2025. Nevertheless, the vocals are good and this is a pretty charming album. The songs are decent enough too and the band were really talented.
Check out this old charmer.
