The debut album from this band from France.
The band was a quintet with a line-up of drums, bass, guitars and piano.
This is my first ever meeting with this and and their music. Their 2014 debut, the EP Metnal was released back in 2014 and bypassed me totally. Both albums are available through Bandcamp.
Chascade is clocking in at one hour.
The music here is eclectic prog. Although that label is not the full story here. The music is wandering around in all directions. Crossover Prog is perhaps a more suitable label. It is a fifty/fifty (head)case, the music here.
The band has also crammed in math rock, neo-classical music and some art-rock into this one hour long album.
There are also some vocals here and they are really good.
The result is a bit of a headcase of an album. The music is also pretty good. I am not entirely won over. But most of this album is good fun and the scene needs more genre-defying albums like this.
