Jesdat - The City Lights (2005)

The one and only album from this band from Spain.

The band was a sextet with a line-up of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, violin, keyboards, effects and vocals.

One guest added vocals to one song.

This album was released as a private CD-R album in 100 copies and it got no attention. The band then broke up. I got an electronic copy of this album years ago and put it on my to-review list this summer.

The album clocks in at three quarters of an hour.

The music is electronic, ambient prog.

There are a lot of Tangerine Dream and some Eloy influences here.

There are some hints of krautrock too here. Most of the music is instrumental. There are some vocals at the end.

The music is pretty melodic and somewhat epic.

I am no fan of electronic prog. I was a bit horrified when I found out that this was an electronic prog album. The music here is far better than I expected and I really like the epic parts here.

This is a decent album. An album who deserve a re-release.
