Sólstafir - Endless Twilight of Codependent Love (2020)

The seventh album from this band from Iceland.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, electronics and vocals.

This band is one of the true original, weird bands in the prog and metal scene. Their last albums has been... interesting.

This one hour long album follows in that tradition.

Take some extreme metal, add in some folk rock, vaudeville art-rock and some psych rock.

The music is not so barren, naked desolate on this album as on the two previous albums. Then again, there is more extreme metal, black metal to be more precise around on this album. Not much but there are some minutes of it.

There is also some folk rock like vaudeville art-rock here too. Most of the album is dominated by that. The vocals are weird, but still the only type of vocals fitting this kind of music.

This is a weird album, as per usual from this band. It is also a good album and one well worth checking out.
