Kashgar - Artefact (2020)

The second album from this band from Canada.

The band was a trio with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards, synths and backing vocals.

Two guests added vocals and backing vocals.

The band returned five years after the release of their self-titled debut album. That was a good album, see my review earlier this week.

Artefact is clocking in at fifty-two minutes.

The music here is a blend of fusion, early 1970s symphonic prog, art-rock and heavy prog.

This album is a smorgasboard of various styles. All of the music is melodic, though. The music here is therefore very different from the music on their self-titled debut album.

The album is full of playful guitars and keyboards. The guitars are the stars here and is dominating the soundscape.

There are also some good vocals here.

The result is another good album from this band and one that should interest everyone into progressive rock.
