Magenta - Tarot (2026)

The 11th album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a trio with a lineup of bass, guitars, piano, keyboards, programming and vocals.

A number of guests added drums, oboe, flute and backing vocals.

Magenta has been one of the biggest names in the post-millenium UK prog rock scene. I have had the joy of reviewing their first ten albums in both ProgArchives and in all the editions of this blog.

I was therefore looking forward to review this album.

Tarot is clocking in at fifty-three minutes.

The music is soft neo-prog. References are the first Magenta albums and Renaissance.

The music is melodic, a bit symphonic and pretty soft. The music is also dynamic and a bit epic. Christiana Booth's vocals are on the top of some strings, woodwinds, keyboards and guitars.

Some of the music brings back memories from the 1970s pop scene.

The songs are all good here. The band has released better albums than this album. This is still a good album and one all neo-prog fans should check out.
