Green Carnation - A Dark Poem, Part II Sanguis (2026)

The eighth album from this band from Norway.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of percussion, drums, bass, guitars, organs, keyboards, synths, effects and vocals.

One guest added flute on one track.

The band originated from the black metal band In The Woods and released their debut album in year 2000. I have reviewed both them and the In The Woods albums in this blog. See # 2 and # 3 of this blog.

I reviewed part 1 of the albums in this series in October last year and liked it a lot. It is indeed a good album.

A Dark Poem, Part II Sanguis is clocking in at thirty-five minutes.

The music is a blend of alternative rock and doom metal.

Most of the music is epic and monumental. It is also melodic.

The music has a whiff of concept album over it. It is a concept album.. That explains it...

The clean vocals are very good. There are some extreme metal vocals here too.

This is another good album from this band and another good album in this series of albums. Check it out.
