The debut album from this band/project with members from Germany and Peru.
The band was an eight pieces big band with a line-up of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, sound effects and vocals.
This band/project released two albums before they gave up the ghost/cooperation. This band was a collaboration between bands from Peru and Germany. The type of cooperation the music world is capable of doing. Which says everything about the power of music. A review of the second album will be posted in some days' time.
Discovery Of Obskuria clocks in at eighty minutes.
The music is mainly space rock.
Their inclusion of a The Beatles and a Metallica song is an odd one and the first thing that strikes the listener about this album. Moving past these decent cover versions of Come Together and For Whom The Bells Tolls, there are a lot of space rock workouts here.
The music is hard and heavy most of the time. Some of these space rock workouts sound improvised too.
The album ends with some soul music. Just to confuse us all.
I am not really won over by this album. The cover versions are half-decent. The space rock pieces is pretty good and the soul music is best forgotten. Hence.....
