The sixth album from this band from Norway.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
A dozen of guests added violin, trumpet, flutes and a small symphonic ensemble.
The band had taken another four years long album break after the release of their previous album Remedies. The band emerged again with the forty minutes long Visions. This is also so far their latest album too.
The music here is again melancholic art-rock. There is also a lot of post-rock in their music too. References is therefore Gazpacho and Sigur Ros.
Compared with their previous five albums, the music on this album is much more symphonic than before. The music is also pretty intense, monumental and bold. There are a lot of details here.
There are still some pastoral pieces here too. The music is still pretty melodic too. Melancholy is the main theme here and what this album will be remembered for.
The vocals is very good and the instrumentation is cool.
The result is a very good album from a band who really deserve a lot more credit and attention. I recommend their six albums and is adding this band to my top 10 of the best bands from Norway.
