The fifth album from this band from Norway.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
This summer, I am on a mission to review their eight studio albums and their box. Their first four albums were pretty good to good albums. That makes this an enjoyable mission.
Øye For Øye is clocking in at three quarters of an hour.
The music is again a blend of dark folk rock and art-rock. There are also some hints of symphonic prog here.
The music is mid-tempo and dark.
The guitars from Odd Fezza Ellingsen (Høst etc etc) are the dominant instrument here.
The dark operatic male vocals also give this album a lot of character.
The sound is good and there is a lot of arctic ambience here. Those who love Thule will also find this album enjoyable and interesting.
The quality here is pretty good. I am not won over by this album. It is still an interesting album and an original take on progressive rock, art-rock and folk rock.
