Good God - Good God (1972)

The one and only album from this band from USA.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of marimba, drums, bass, guitars, clavinet, piano, electric piano, saxophones and vocals.

A number of guests added congas, saxophones, trumpet, trombone and French horn.

A good friend tipped me off about this album. That is why I got it some years ago.

This album is clocking in at forty minutes.

The music is a blend of jazz, fusion, soul and blues.

The music is a blend of fast and mid-tempo themes.

The music is driven by the tight rhythm section with some woodwinds, guitars and clavinet on the top of the rhythms.

Some of the music is bluesy and soulful. Most of the music is jazz, though. The music is also pretty untraditional and unique.

There are some sporadic, good bluesy vocals here too. Most of the music is instrumental.

The quality is somewhere between decent and good. This album has a cult status and it is therefore worth checking out.
