The third album from this band from USA.
The band, make that a studio project, was a twenty pieces big band with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, violin, viola, piano, keyboards and vocals.
This fifty minutes long album is part three and the closing chapter of the Terra Incognita trilogy. A fantasy book has also been released covering this trilogy.
The first two albums was released in 2009 and 2010. I reviewed them in.......... actually, I have not reviewed them at all. But I still remember their releases. I will therefore put the two first albums up for review this winter.
I did not expect to hear anything more about this band/project again after their second album. Hence my big surprise when I got this album.
The music here has all the hallmarks of a concept album. The music is somewhere between heavy prog and pomp rock.
The vocalists are both male and female. Mikael Sadler from Saga does the first song and we also get vocals from Dan Reed and Anneke Van Giersbergen.
The music is melodic too with some interesting details. The music is not particular heavy.
The quality is pretty good throughout with some decent and some good songs. Hence...
