The second album from this band from Great Britain.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards and tuba.
I was positive surprised by their debut album. The music was surprisingly dynamic. I had since it's release in 1978 avoided it as I thought it was a wishy-washy new-age album. It is not.
Hence I was looking forward to review the follow up album.
Sky 2 is clocking in at eighty minutes. It is a double LP and a double CD album.
The music here has been described as prog rock lite in some other magazines. There is a lot of truth in those observations.
Take neo-classical music and blend it with symphonic prog and cinematic rock. This is what we get here.
Most of the music is neo-classical music though. The music is pretty dynamic throughout and there is some interesting pieces here.
This album is not as good as their debut album. It is still a decent enough album though. I am not won over by these eighty minutes, I am afraid.
