Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere (2024)

The fourth album from this band from USA.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, gong, percussion, bass, guitars, mellotron, moog, keyboards, synths, programming and vocals.

Three guests added piano, organ, mellotron, synths, programming and vocals.

This three quarters of an hour long album sees the band return to the themes on their debut album.

That means death metal with a lot of psych rock and prog rock influences. One of the Tangerine Dream members is also appearing here and the result is an Eloy'ish like piece of music.

The album starts out as a death metal album before psych rock takes over. That is how the rest of the album goes with spurts of death metal with more melodic pieces in between.

There is some Tangerine Dream like electronica on this album too.

The music is very varied throughout. The music is also pretty decent. I have yet to be won over by this band but I understand the hype around them. They are not really impressing me.
