The debut album from this band from USA.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, organ, clavinet and vocals.
One guest added drums on one track.
This band released six albums between 1976 and 2013. All of them are up for reviews this winter in this blog.
This, their debut album is one of the iconic albums from the 1970s.
The music on this forty minutes long album is pomp rock. Many would label this as a classic rock album or even an AOR album. All these three labels are correct and fitting.
The sound is very big and full of multilayered instruments. There are three hit songs here and the opening track More Than A Feeling is one of the iconic songs from the 1970s and still a favourite in millions of homes around this planet.
The rest of the songs are not that interesting. They does indeed sound a bit dated.
Nevertheless, this is still a good album and an icon from this era. It has some flaws but it should still be included in any respectable record collections.
