Children In Paradise - Esyllt (2011)

The debut album from this band from France.

The band was a duo with a lineup of guitars and vocals.

A handful of guests added drums, bass, guitars, harp, piano, keyboards, uillean pipes and whistle.

This band released two albums between 2011 and 2016. A review of the second album will follow in some days time.

The music on this sixty-five minutes long album is melodic progressive rock with a lot of mainstream rock and pop influences. There is also a lot of celtic rock on this album.

The Corrs is a good references. So is Mostly Autumn too. The angelic female vocals is the main reasons for these comparisons.

There is still some bite and muscles in the music here although the vocals are soft.

There are some very good guitar hooks, harmonies and solos here from the other half of this duo. Those are the best parts of this pretty good album.

If commercial, melodic celtic folk influenced prog is your thing, this is an album for you.
