Graphite - Chestnut Loke (1996)

The one and only album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, piano, organ, mellotron and vocals.

One guest added drums on one track.

This band were pretty popular in the south-west area of England in the 1970s. This album consists of recordings/recording sessions between 1970 and 1974. They were compiled and released by the record label Audio Archives.

Chestnut Loke is clocking in at seventy-five minutes.

The music here is a blend of acid folk, folk rock and psych rock.

The music is melodic and songs based throughout. There are fifteen songs here and one re-recorded song. In total sixteen songs.

There are also a couple of instrumentals here and they are in the symphonic prog genre. They are mellotron and guitars based.

The music is pastoral, folky and earthy.

The male and female vocals is very good. The sound is also very good.

I am positive surprised, indeed. This is a pretty good album and a hidden gem in the folk rock genre. If folk rock is your thing....
