Valis Ablaze - Boundless (2018)

The debut album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and vocals.

Three guests added guitars and electronics.

This band from Bristol, England released two albums between 2018-19 before they gave up the ghost and disbanded.

The music on this fifty-five minutes long album is progressive metal.

That is progressive metal with some djent interludes and lots of vocal harmonies. Their take on progressive metal is not exactly following the Dream Theater blueprint. Far from it. The band is more leaning towards Porcupine Tree.

The music is big, bold and heavy. The guitars and the vocals is good. The sound is mostly good, with a notable drop in the sound quality on the final two tracks. Tracks I guess is bonus demo tracks.

The quality is pretty good without really being convincing. I think this band deserves a lot more credit than they got back then.
