The 14th album from this one-man-band from USA.
Andrew Laitres did the vibraphone, percussion, bass, guitars, synths and vocals here.
He had help from a number of guests who provided drums, percussion, bass, guitars, banjo, mandolin, strings, piano, organ, keyboards, woodwinds and vocals.
I have reviewed three of his albums in previous editions of this blog. Then the band dropped out of my view and I forgot about them. I now have access to all the albums and will review them sometime next year.
Songs Of The Sea is clocking in at forty minutes.
The music here is a blend of folk rock and art-rock.
The music is pastoral with a lot of strings and acoustic instruments. This is some sort of a concept album and the concept is working well.
Most of all, the music is really pastoral with a lot of very good vocals.
This makes this a good album and one that has rekindled my interest in Andrew Laitres project The Winter Tree.
