The second album from this artist from Sweden.
Bjorn Johansson played percussion, bass, guitars, bouzouki, sitar, mandola, mandolin, harp, zither, keyboards, synths, recorder, flutes and bassoon.
Two guests added piano, synths, sampler, programming and flutes. A ten man big choir also added their voices to one of the two suites here.
I reviewed Bjorn's debut album some days ago and I liked it. A review of his final album will be added in some days time. I will also review the two Lindh & Johansson albums at the end of the year.
Ursux X Orion is clocking in at three quarters of an hour.
This album consists of two suites. The music here is slow to mid-tempo symphonic prog.
Mike Oldfield, the Hergest Ridge era, is a great reference here.
There is wide variety of instruments here. From long and lingering guitar solos to mandolin, sitar, flutes, synths and a choir.
The music is not particular exciting. I am not a Mike Olfield admirer either and this album is therefore not hitting the right notes in my office.
This is a decent enough album and that just about it.
